Valentin Saitarli

Valentin Saitarli is an AI technologist and serial entrepreneur with more than a decade of experience architecting machine intelligence systems — spanning computer vision, behavioral AI, computational linguistics, and transformer-based architectures. As Co-Founder and CTO of EyeX (EyeX.ai), he leads technology strategy and product development, building intelligent visual systems for mining, defense, and smart city applications.

Saitarli’s foundation in enterprise AI was forged at Infosys, where he served at the Infosys Knowledge Institute in New York — first as Consultant, then Project Lead — working around Infosys Nia, the company’s enterprise AI platform, and guiding Fortune 500 clients through AI-powered strategy, automation, and digital transformation. This period shaped his systems-level approach to deploying machine intelligence at enterprise scale.

He deepened that foundation through executive studies at MIT in artificial intelligence, generative AI, and computer vision, and executive training at Stanford University. Saitarli’s approach to computer vision is rooted in the intellectual tradition of the Stanford lab of Fei-Fei Li — widely regarded as the mother of modern computer vision, whose ImageNet project catalyzed the deep learning revolution: AlexNet, the 2012 breakthrough that ignited modern AI, was born from the ImageNet challenge, and the lab’s alumni include world-class researchers such as Andrej Karpathy, a founding member of OpenAI and later Director of AI at Tesla. It is this lineage — the research tradition that ultimately paved the way for today’s generative AI systems — on which Saitarli trained, building his expertise on coursework and research from Li’s group and extending it into applied detection, object retrieval, and real-world vision systems. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Columbia University, where he was a finalist in the Columbia Global Technology Challenge and served as a Research Assistant applying computational linguistics to a corpus of 30,000+ collective bargaining agreements, research later published in “Optimal Contract Design in the Wild.”

His work in computer vision crystallized at AiMerch, a Stanford-rooted computer vision company, where he served on the founding leadership team. AiMerch was a winner of the Stanford Emergence Challenge, a graduate of the StartX and Stanford Cardinal accelerator programs, and was selected for Techstars (’23), Google for Startups (’24), and the TechCrunch Startup Battlefield 200 — backed by a bench of world-class advisers spanning AI research and enterprise distribution. AiMerch’s proprietary detection models achieved 98.5% object retrieval accuracy — outperforming Google Vision API benchmarks — bringing real-time shelf intelligence to enterprise distribution.

Earlier roles included Apple, where he worked on the iTunes U integration into Columbia’s academic systems, and Uber, contributing to Uber Eats in its formative stages. He gained early access to OpenAI’s systems in 2019, building a proprietary neural network platform later spun out as PRAI, where he serves as founder. In 2025, he was appointed to lead a course in computer vision and process optimization at Florida International University. His work has been featured in Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, and Entrepreneur.
